Independent candidate for
Kā Puna Springs Ward, Selwyn

"With so many council seats opening, and the right people at the table, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity for real change in Selwyn to put Community First."

Why I'm Running for Council
Priority Spending
I’ll ensure every dollar is spent wisely, with clear priorities and transparent reporting. My focus is on sustainable budgets that protect ratepayers while delivering the services our growing community needs. I will bring logical financial oversight needed to keep us moving forward.
First ask will be to propose Council find a way to decrease rate increase into the single digits as soon as possible.
True Community Engagement
I believe in decisions made WITH our community. I’ll champion open consultation, genuine listening, and regular feedback so everyone’s voice shapes Selwyn’s future. I want to propose looking into Participatory Budgeting, a process where you, as community members, get a real say in how some council funds are spent. This means you’ll be able to see the options, weigh up the trade-offs, and help decide which projects or services matter most.
Forward-Thinking Solutions
Selwyn is growing fast, so we need smart leadership that looks ahead. I want to consistently propose adopting modern systems and fresh ideas to make the council work better for everyone, save time and money, and keep our community a great place to live, now and in the future.
An example of this is to use technology to bring the LIM approval process from 8-10 working days to 2-3 working days. It's entirely possible and being done elsewhere!
